Money raised?

Breaking a World record is one thing, raising money for the Nothing but Nets campaign is another. We did not  achieve our goal. At this time we’ve raised 3.604,70 euro, witch isn’t enough to cover the costs made.

That’s why we decided to continue this programme. New ideas for putting our Clics to good use are emerging. Your ideas are welcome.

Application for official Guinness World Record has been sent!

The 2011 JCI World Conference Brussels will be a unique memory for all who was there. This conference however will also be mentioned in one of the best sold books in the world, the Guinness Book of Records!

We managed to build the conference logo with 218.772 Clics, resulting in a carpet of 36,80 by 9,38 meter (345,18m²). The current record in the category ‘Largest image build with interlocking plastic bricks’ is 112m². We managed to triple this record, however, we’re still waiting for Guinness to make it official.

This achievement was possible thanks to the preparation of lots of Belgian members and the help of our international friends, during the conference. Thank you all!

Will we break that world record?

Posted by egrutman | Tags: Clics donate | 0 Comments

We are eager to break that World record in the category "Largest image made out of interlocking plastic bricks". And we believe that by making your personal donation count for 10 times as much bricks, we actually can! Our aim is builing a carpet, made of 300.000 Clics, covering 480 square meters.

For all donations received by November 1st we will start building the corresponding piece(s) of the carpet at the entrance of Hall 1, where the Opening Ceremony and the general assemblies are held. This carpet will grow according to the amount of donations received. On Saturday, the Presidential Gala is held in that same location, so imagine taking your delegates pictures in front of a unique World Record breaking achievement!

We accept payments online, starting at 15 euro. Be part of this attempt by contributing to the Clics for Nets campaign!

Many thanks and see you in Brussels!

We've adjusted our goal

Posted by egrutman | Tags: Clics goal | 0 Comments
Whilst originally aiming to sell and build a massive carpet consisting of 1.000.000 Clics by November 5th, the Clics For Nets organizing committee decided to adjust the goal to one third of the original carpet.

The reason for doing this is as simple and straight forward as it can be: we have a world congress coming up in 3 weeks. In order for us not to not compromise the quality and to deliver a top class, state of the art event we need as much help and engagement as possible from all our Members and that includes prioritising and taking firm decisions like this one.

By November 5th we will build the upper part of the carpet that includes the JCI World Congress logo. This more realistic goal still remains an official Guinness World Record but you know where we're going: WE CAN'T DO THIS ALONE! Your help/ donations are a necessity for us to build this carpet! Individual donations start from 12 EURO. Together, we can eradicate malaria!

Tarragona tradeshow money-box

Posted by admin | Tags: JCIEC2011, money-box, tarragona | 0 Comments

cash.jpegFrom the 1st to the 4th of June, JCI Europe held its 2011 European Conference in Tarragona, Spain. The JCI World Congress booth at the Trade Show was built completely out of CLICS blocks, and delegates and visitors liked it. Since our online pay-per-clic service isn't fully functional yet, we quickly built a money-box from CLICS, and raised a cool extra 158,00 EUR ;-)

Thanks to all the visitors at the Tarragona Trade Show, and remember to promote this project back home!

PS. For all fact-lovers: the JCI WC2011 logo design used in Tarragona consisted of 16.875 CLICS blocks, and took some 34 hours to build. The "Grand Design" of 1mio blocks will take some 1,500 hours to build, which is 250 working days, equalling 50 weeks or almost a year... The JCI World Congress is 150 days from today ;-)
